Slashdot | Finnish Firm Claims Fake P2P Hash Technology
What a load of horseshit. Virtual Algorithm...yeah, right. I've got news for you, it either is an algorithm or it isn't. Also claiming one can change files that are complete and shared is utter nonsense. Once the download is complete, the final hash is calculated and then the file is put into a read only mode. Unless they have a secret weapon that can modify the P2P client's code, what they claim is impossible. If that were the case, than this is nothing more than a trojan horse and should be treated as such.
They also don't realize that any type of hash collision will result in an incorrect file size. This is important because even with the small possibility of creating a junk file with the same hash AND the same filesize, they claim 100% success for all files. I think the Helsinki cold has the devs at this company suffering from hypothermia, because they are making no sense.
